My shed dormer add-on will be properly "cathedral cieling" vented. It will have a metal roof and my snow load is 88 lbs (I can get a lot of nasty weather for a long time). My supplier recommended Hi-temp I&W shield on the entire dormer roof. He says that after 5 years or so, the heat will dissapate the chemicals in the paper / standard shield; this coupled with the constant sweating of the metal panel could lead to premature deck failure.

Sounds plausible to me. Should I use felt on the shield as well? Thoughts?

the weather shield , in that environment, is a must.....but the felt is not necessay.....not to meantion you have to attach the felt and no matter the material the fewer the holes the better
