i am rethinking my future bathroom rehab. i was thinking a full sized tile shower.
but the vanity is pretty small, and no room to expand as the layout is now.
but if i put in one of these, i could put the crapper where half of the tub is now. and the show unit where the other half of the tub is now. then i will have rom for a larger vanity.

There is a corner unit installed in one of my bathrooms. It is functional and i like the space it frees up.

I've noticed that some of these are more rugged than others. I guess you get what you pay for.

I put in a rounded corner shower during one of my bathroom remodels. It was one my wife found online and just had to have. Very expensive (like $1200) and she had to drive four hours to Philadelphia to get it. Installation was pretty simple until I went to plumb the drain. The connection on the pan was metric! Waited two weeks for a replacement.

Bottom line: we almost never used that shower the rest of the time we owned the house. The glass had to be cleaned after every use or it got water spots and soap film and looked like crap. And the way the doors opened, it was impossible to reach in and adjust the water without getting sprayed. Our daughter now owns that house, and she doesn't use that shower either.

seriously though, before putting any show in, one should move around in a model and see if its too small. I'm a bigger guy and some showers I seem to need to open the door and get out, then get back in in whatever position needs to get wet next.

We had one of those corner shower is our bathroom and in 15 plus years, we only used it 5 or 10 times. It was too small and like was mentioned, there was no way to adjust shower temp without getting wet and/or getting water all over the floor.

So when we redid our bathroom, we took that thing out and gave it away. We put in a 36" by 60" tile shower. I am SOOOO happy we did that.

Our new shower has a glass wall and door but that is easy to take care of with a rubber squeegie after every shower. Takes a minute or two and saves tons of cleaning.

i was talking to a guy at work. he said he had one, and loved it, and will be getting another for his next house.

i have been measuring the tub i have now. we NEVER use the other half of the tub, its waisted space in a smallish bathroom. i know i can build a corner shower that would fit all but the fattest of people = resale. we are not fat.

I got my house in November, so I cannot say anything about long term yet. But, I have one and love it. Mine isn't the style with all glass walls. My walls are solid, with fiberglass panels on the inside, and a glass door in the center. There's even a small light at the top. I'm 6ft 2'' tall and 185lbs. I have no problems getting in, out, or moving around in it. You won't get two people in there, but that's fine by me.

I haven't taken an actual bath since I was maybe 10yrs old. It's always showers, so I don't see the need for a tub. (My other bathroom has a tub. I rarely use it.) My shower head is to the right of the door, facing away from the door, so I can reach in with my left hand and turn the water on without getting sprayed. I also find it easier to clean than a tub.

i was at HD. they had 2 displays. 1 had a 3 sided glass front. that one had little room in it. the other was a rounded door design, it had plenty of room in it.
i want to build my own tiled encloser, but i need to find that rounded door. or just buy that unit and only use the door.
