I am installing corner bead, but I can hit a wooden stud only on one side. The other side goes straight in to the drywall. I'm looking for solutions.

If the corner was framed correctly (i.e. corner post and not just a stud), there would be ample nailing on both sides. You should still be able to hit the stud by angling your nails back slightly UNLESS you're adding a second layer of drywall. GBAR's recommendation for paper bead will solve your problem and actually is a better system overall. Way less problems with it "popping" loose later on down the line. I've used it for a while and would recommend it....
