I have a series of lights in my basement on two three way switches. I would like to take one of the lights off the three way and have it on it's own new smart switch. I don't know how to rework the wiring for this. I don't know if this complicates things or not but at the junction box of the light I want to change is a transformer to the doorbell.

So, at the end of the day what I'm trying to accomplish is have one existing light on it's own new smart switch, with the remaining lights on existing three way switches. Any help is appreciated.

Presence of the transformer on the box for the light you want to change to wireless indicates constant power at that location. Will make conversion easy.

remove the switch, photo it's wiring.
remove wires from switch,
using twist lock connectors set up the wiring so that it emulates the old switch.

Depending on where the switch is in the chain,
willl dictate what wires are there
and thus what smart switch can be used.
