Hey guys, i'll be trimming out my reno pretty soon and would like to hear/see some ideas about cpntemporary/modern door and window casing. The area is only 500 sqft or so and has 7 doors in various places so I want to keep it clean and simple. I plan to use 3-4" tall 1/2" flatstock for baseboards butting into 3/4" flat door legs to give a nice reveal. I really like the look of mitred flatstock for door casing but may also like to use a small bead molding at the top. If anyone has any projects they could share with this type of idea i would love to see.

Going to look plain Jane and be a dust catcher.
Add base cap on the base boards and an add back band molding to the door and window trim and have a far better look.

Did something very similar last spring in a reno.
At the top of every entry and window I recommended adding a simple entablature moulding with mitered returns... I think it turned out pretty well :

I got my terminology mixed up. I actually meant a fillet at the top of the door not a bead molding. A backband and a fillet wouldnt really work together would they?

This gives me something to think about to dress it up.
