I posted before about an outdoor electrical run i am about to do here in Southern CA. Appreciate your help. This is going to be inspected. Here is what i have so far.

1. schedule 40 underground with THHN wiring (Hot, Neut & Grnd) to go to 5 receptacles and 2 connection boxes. Connection boxes are for possible future run.

2. I want to come out of the ground and go from schedule 40 to emt then to a receptacle box/connection box.

QUESTIONS:
A) What type connectors would you use between schedule 40 and emt?
B) What type of receptacle/connection box would you use? I was thinking of using the non-metallic type.
C) What size connection box? Connection box will have THHN 10 going into it. 9 Total wires in the box. 3 wires coming in, 3 going out and 3 more in the future coming out.

Thanks for any and all comments/suggestions.

A) I would also glue a PVC female adapter to the PVC pipe, then use a set screw or compression EMT connector and thread the male end into it. But my habit has always been to put a junction box there instead and a blank cover because it may be useful one day.
B) I have used both metallic and non-metallic and I stopped using non-metallic for no other reason then you attach the cover to the plastic box with metal screws. If I had to open up that box a bunch of times to change things around, I found that backing out the metal screws from the plastic box a few times can cause the holes in the box to be chewed up and lose it's "bite" on the screws. With metal box there is no such issue.

WHY in the world bother with EMT? What's wrong with Sch80?

Nothing. EMT looks better if there's offsets and other bends though.
If everything else is plastic, including boxes, I think short pieces EMT here and there would look like sh*t.
And I can bend small PVC almost as quickly as EMT.

I get your point, but it seems unnecessary in this case.
