Hello,
Looking for some suggestions. When I went to turn AC on first time this season, compressor turned on, but outdoor fan blade wasn't turning. I replaced the capacitor and a hard start kit, and now the unit is just making a electrical buzzing noise, compressor not turning on. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks

Hard start should have nothing to do with the fan motor. What capacitor did you replace? Did you wire it correctly?

Replaced the oval run capacitor. 35/5/370Vac, which is what was on it before. Took pics and connected it exactly as old one was.

Look at the wiring schematic and be certain it's wired correctly. Also check the capacitor and make sure it tests ok.

Thanks..will pick up another capacitor tomorrow and cross my fingers that thus one was bad! Will double check wiring also

Why not just use your meter and check this capacitor? Did you check the original one to see what the value was?

Maybe post a picture of your new wiring. Think you may have something wrong. Be careful because you can burn up your compressor real quick if its wired wrong. Also a breaker could be tripped at this point even though you hear the contactor humming. That power comes from your air handler

If the cap is good, there's a good chance that the condenser fan is dead. To verify, you could test the resistances between the 3 wires of the fan motor. L1-cap should equal L1-L2 + L2+cap. Or just report the readings and wire colours here.

Before any of this, make sure that you have 230V at the contractor.
