Concrete floor subbase material

I want to pour a concrete pad for building a shed 12'x16' on top and I am shopping for subbase material.

I found a few suppliers that offer 3/4" crushed limestone, 5/8" clear crushed, 1-1/2" to 0" crushed concrete (is this mean the aggregate will be 1-1/2" and smaller?) which one of these is best?

I prefer the first, the 3/4" crushed limestone. Once compacted and wetted down, it's very firm and won't move around.

The second has no fines, and moves around too mch IMPO. The third is too larger to handle by hand IMPO.

I agree with jomama! Before placing the crusher run stone, remove all top soil and nay other organic material found under the the area you are going to use for the pad. Place fabric on top of the sub-base and compact the crushed gravel in 3" lifts. I would place a minimum of 8" of base below the concrete for that size of building.

Ayuh,.... I agree as well,... Use option 1 or 3,....

3/4" minus is just easier rakin' than 1, 1/2" minus,....

Both are a stable solid base material,.....

Thank you all. Just to clarify, I should place landscape fabric first on soil then put the crushed rock on top of fabric and compact well. Afterwards, a layer of vapor barrier on compacted crushed rock then pour concrete?
