All concrete is affected by air temperatures, the concrete in your post holes will be okay below the soil level, but if any is exposed it will freeze at 30 degrees if it's not protected.

ok, i got 3 more posts in. no issues, sept for 1 hole many and 1 large roots.

the holes are about 1' soil, then clay, varies on each hole. most holes i go 3'. critical posts i go more. a couple i went less = rock or somethin' in the hole = 2'ish. i then throw in some road mix (its what i have) . i used 8'ers in these holes, as i had em and well, didn't need longer. i ain't worried about em.

anyway, temps were not a problem, as it got to 70 = great !
