Now boys play nice,:wink2:, I am a middle aged woman who knows little about HVAC

I purchased my house in 1997 Southern California, I am the original owner. I have a comfortmaker furnace in the attic. It turns on, it ignites ,checked thermostat and the batteries in it. The problem is that it has stopped pushing air hot or cold or any air for that matter. What do you think it might be or that I can check? I did just read a thread about a blower fan not working.

Many things.

Cheapest failure would be a bad capacitor. If you hear a hum but the motor doesn't turn, it's likely a bad capacitor. You can open the blower compartment and check the capacitor, a tin can looking thing on the blower assembly for buldging/leaking. capacity can be bad and look okay though.

could be a bad connection, the board, the motor.

i wouldn't recommend diy troubleshooting unless you have some knowledge of electrical, have or would be willing to invest in a multi-meter.

need furnace model number.

To do some troubleshooting, you'll need a meter and the work could potentially involve working with live electricity and natural gas.
Need to check and see if power is being discharged by the control board for the blower.
