Code violation?

Hi, I'm wiring a 100 amp sub panel next to my main load center. I'm running #2 thhn wire in 1 1/4 conduit, the electrical supply store near me only had #2 thhn in black and green. Is it a code violation to use black thhn wire for the neutral in the sub panel? I'm going to wrap white tape around both ends. Thanks

JC

4 gauge is the cut off for re identifying a conductor as a neutral. You will need to re identify though. Get the cheapest white tape you can and mark it anywhere it terminates or junctions. #4 for a ground is bigger than required but definitely gets the job done.
Number 8 copper is the minimum to open a 100 amp breaker. Number 4 copper can open a 300 amp breaker.
