Hello, I have a closed loop system on my water heater and boiler side. There is a backflow preventer installed. Water can not flow through domestic side.

I have an expansion tank for boiler.

How can I install an expansion tank for hot water heater to prevent pressure relief valve from dripping?

All pipes going to hot water heater are 1/2 inch copper.

What parts do I need to get job done?

What kind of expansion tank do I need for kenmore short 40 gal hot water heater?

Is it installed on cold water line going into hot water heater or hot line going to faucets?

Thanks in advance for an experienced master plumber or someone experienced in this field.

I will get pics up as soon as possible.
