Installing a Hunter clg fan. The bracket from the fan that attaches to the clg junction box has rubber pads that touch the drywall. The bracket for the fan does not touch the metal ceiling box. As the fan bracket is tightened it tightens against the drywall. Thought this might crack the drywall, it did. How to fix? Thinking of maybe some flat metal or washers to go over the cracked drywall? Model # 53251 52" pros best 5 minute fan. Hard to describe the bracket that attaches to the ceiling junction box. There are two rubber pads for each end of the bracket that touch the drywall only and the bracket does not touch metal fan ceiling junction box. Thanks for any help.

I know what you are talking about. I have that happen to me. The crack that I experienced was not noticeable from the floor. I discussed it with the homeowner and he was fine with me just putting a light coating of joint compound over the crack. The ceiling was going to be painted eventually.

You could install a medallion on the ceiling.
