Use a mirror to read that aquastat.
Read the 007 instructions to make sure you are installing it in an allowable position.
Check the water you drain off for doing the pump change to see if it's full of debris and the whole system needs flushing..
Consider removing the check valve from the 007 if that's the pump you decide to go with again.
Watch for leaking auto bleeds or relief valves that constantly require the boiler to refill with new oxygenated replacement water which causes faster than normal rusting.
