Hello,

I am trying to build a raised garden in the back yard. I need to prepare 2 sections that have a curve. We live in a small house and the steamer box is not an option. I have read an article about using a chop saw to make cuts to bend the wood. Rather then investing in a chop saw can I use a circular saw or big miter saw to make it act like a chop saw? The circular saw would be my first choice as I have one of those. I also have a jig saw and hand saws. All help is appreciated.

What you are wanting to do is called "kerf cuts" or kerfing. You can do it wth a circular saw. Kind of a PITA, but it will work.

Do some research on cut depths and spacing next.
