Hi guys,

In the future, I will be adding air conditioning to my new second floor addition in years to come. Before I close up the walls, I would like to run the electric circuit to the attic for the unit. What size circuit would you run to the attic? The second floor is a 1070 sq ft of living space.

You need to pick out the unit you want --that will dictate the amps required---

What are you planing to use? 220 volt ?

Before you build something---a plan of action is helpful.

How about starting a thread about the best unit to handle the space?

Are you thinking of a window/wall unit?
Attic mount with outside compressor?
Mini split?

Your location will help---Air conditioning needs depend on where you are----

Heat pump? Gas furnace? Electric heat only?
What you want will dictate what electrical requirements will be.

Just a thought----run conduit large enough for what ever might be needed----then leave it empty until you know what is needed.
