The contractor proposes to replace an old system and to install
Trane gas furnace TUD1B060936, a new Trane cased coil 4TXCB036 and a new Trane SEER 13 condensing unit 4TTB3036. Also, he proposes to charge it with R410 refrigerant, while other contractors recommend R-22 because the lines are too small (small diameter). What is the consensus?

None of the contractors have followed anything like the ACCA standards that indicate quality installation, such as making the Manual J caloculation, give a performance guarantee as to what the house temperature will be relative to the outside temperature. Is that typical? All this in the Philadelphia, PA area.

I need all the advice I can get to protect myself since I donot know how to evaluate the estimates and contracts.
