Merry xmas everyone!
I recently found a section of wire that appears to have been chewed by a rodent. Normally I would just replace the section of wire. Unfortunately, this section goes into the wall and runs to the bathroom on the other side. I am trying real hard not to open up anything in the bathtoom and leave it undisturbed (I promised the wife I
wouldnt touch the bathroom). There doesnt seem to be any room to place a junction box either.
I work on cars for a living and have been repairing car wiring for a long time, especially rodent chewed wires. Of course they are different as far as current and voltage goes but seeing that the conductor on the wire in question is not damaged, could I use some ghick shrink tube to repair the damage? Im not sure what is legal as far as code goes but I can be sure the conductor will be covered when im done. I can disconnect the wire on the open side of the wall to slide the shrink tube over it as it terminates in an outlet box.
