I have a couple questions about charging residential split ac systems.

If the system is recovered of all refrigerent, when you recharge it aren't you supposed to flip the bottle and add a static charge to the liquid line side? then you fire up the compressor and add slowly to the vapor side with bottle upright slowly while you dial in SH/SC?

Also Can you recover refrigerent on a running system with the recovery bottle and no recovery machine?

since it requires a license to work on AC, you will generally get no assistance as those here do respect the law and would not want to help another break the law.

i have my epa type 2 and i am working in the field doing installation... i was just curious about the charging because we are getting into that in school soon

that sounds incongruous. How do you have your type 2 and doing installs yet do not have the basics of installs and recovery learned?

Something doesn't jive for me so I'll leave this to somebody else, if they want to assist.
