[Fix'n it]

i have a basic 3y/o TORO push. the oil can use a changing.
i am thinking just tip it over. but idk if there are precautions and/or tips to not cause problems ?

I would disconnect the spark plug, pick it up, set on a pair of saw horses, clean the bottom of the deck with a putty knife, and expect to find a drain plug in the bottom of the engine.

You would HOPE to find a drain plug but I have seen some newer mowers, incl. some brand names, without a drain plug which is absolutely bizarre. The owner's manual - either paper or online - might be helpful. Tipping it over to drain out the fill tube just sounds like a process that will end up in tears if, for no other reason, it pretty much requires that you drain the oil cold.

i just looked. the manual, i found it under my chain saw :vs_laugh: lain:, says to tip it.

not only that. but they, probably correctly, assume that most people would never bother to use a drain, if it were there. so why bother. and for those that want to change the oil, tipping probably isn't a big deal.
