"Chandelier" installation help please

1392 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  ColeyK
I am installing a chandelier (looks set-up like a lamp) in my bedroom in an existing spot available to do so. My chandelier is from hobby lobby ( this one to be exact: http://shop.hobbylobby.com/products/15-blue-beaded-chandelier-245795/ ).
I examined the place in the ceiling, and I can determine the white wire, the black wire, and the ground copper wire there. However my chandelier has a standard outlet plug and an on off switch on the wire.
My theory is to cut the wire (perhaps also cutting off the switch) and using those two wires, but the chandelier has no ground wire.
I do not know how to proceed, any help would be appreciated.

Also I was wondering if to attach the wires to the ceiling wires if I could use duct tape
Duct tape has no use in wiring anything.
Use wire nuts, I believe your going to need yellow nuts.

I went out and got them. And I wish I could take a picture and show it off but it looks great and works great. Also solves the mystery of the other light switch. It was meant to be.
