Hi,
I'm repairing a section of damaged ceiling and, of course, the ceiling is textured. I've been hunting around trying to find a picture of the texture style online and some come close, but quite the same technique. Attached is two pics of the existing texture. To me it looks like they rolled it on and brushed it with.....? That's where I'm stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated!

It might be a slapbrush finish.

You may be able to use a cotton rag saturated with thin mud. I would practice first on a piece of scrap drywall or cardboard. You don't need to get it perfect, just close. After priming and painting, nobody will even notice.
