Hi All!!
In our kitchen, I removed a light fixture to put a different one but found that the ceiling underneath the fixture was not painted, so I searched my basement and found that the previous owner had some paint leftovers and one of them was for the kitchen (did not specifically says ceiling but the color almost matched, visually).
So I took that paint and tried to paint that area hoping it will blend with the existing ceiling paint without issues, left it overnight, and found out that the area I painted was a bit shiny, and did not blend well with the existing paint(a transition in paint color is visible).
After couple of days, I took a piece of the existing old paint right from the drywall to homedepot, they did a color match, and I got a sample to try out, painted that area of the ceiling again, but the color did not really match what I have !!
so now in my kitchen, I've a square shaped area where the paint does not match the entire ceiling.
one of the solutions is to paint the entire ceiling, but the ceiling is connected all the way to the Foyer, so even if I paint the kitchen ceiling, there will be an area where another mismatch will occur...so I'm not really sure if this is a good idea. and I do not want to paint the whole area that started from a little square!!
Any suggestions?
thanks!
