ceiling light and fan only one neutral wire?

i checked the wiring of the ceiling light in one of my rooms. i plan to add a ceiling fan. i was told it was pre-wired to have a ceiling fan.

i'm confused coz the only availble line is a hot wire. so i have 2 hot wires (one for the ceiling light, one for the ceiling fan), 1 neutral wire (currently connected to ceiling light) but NO neutral wire for ceiling fan.

is this the standard set-up. do ceiling fan and lights only require one neutral wire?
