Hi,
I've redecorated my house and currently, I'm looking for a ceiling fan. I want to install it in a dining room, straight above the table. The dining room is decorated as vintage and loft. Help with making a choice, thanks in advance, share experience and pitfalls

Can't say that I've ever seen a fan above a dining rm table. How high is the ceiling? I wonder if that kind of air movement would have any effect on the food ?? I know our ceiling fan blades collect dust and have to be cleaned every so often.

Ceiling is 2.7 meters high. As for air movement, I don't think that it'll affect the food in any way. I see a ceiling fan as a decor element, neither than a fan. For understanding, I'm looking for something like 6th or 7th option from this list. As to the dust, I agree with you, it seems troublesome, thanks for the thought.

6 and 7 fan are totally different when I click on that link, so not sure I am seeing same thing you are. But my taste does not matter anyways, only what you like.

But a couple of thinks I would be looking for in a fan is:
1) That it works down to a pretty low speed. I commonly run my fan at minimum speed, just to circulate the air.
2) If its got a light, I want a replaceable bulb. Let me buy the LED bulb. Not the integrated LED, that if they ever die, you can't replace them.

I will be buying a fan later this spring. The manufacturer has some newer DC models that are more efficient and might have better speed regulation, but those only come with remote control --- I can't handle having any more battery powered remote controls. So I will be getting the older AC motor, which I can get with the wall control.

I find ceiling fans over dining tables in 9 out of 10 houses in the $ mid to lower range.

Style is up to you, and you shouldn't have issues with 4 vs. 5 blade and size of a low-profile one if you have a nearly 9' ceiling and larger room. If you have drop chains that's an annoyance leaning over the table, so wall control or remote is good.
