I just bought an Emerson Carrera Grande 60" ceiling fan. It is one of their higher grade models with a 212mm x 25mm motor. It has a built-in capacitor in the fan (no pull chain) and it came with a 4 speed wall switch. According to the tech sheet, this fan is supposed to run at 215 RPM at high speed. MIne is running about 130 RPM, far short of what I expected and need for the area I'm using it in. Is the issue with the fan's capacitor or can I correct it with a different wall control?

Some of those fan switches have a trim screw that adjusts the speed. Check your instructions to see. Also check to see if even though there is no pull string on the fan it doesn't have some means onboard to control the speed. If the fan is not in high speed it wont matter what speed you put the wall switch in it will not run in high. If either of these things are not found I would return the fan. Good luck!
