On a low level, everything is fine. But when i put it on high or medium, the brackets of the blades very slightly scrape against the motor housing on one side. Perhaps my ceiling or the fan box is not completely level. What can I do to have that side lowered?
I have a Harbor Breeze New Haven model NH52ABZ5C.

Post a Pic and a little History. Is this a new installation in a rated ceiling box or has the Fan been installed to replace a ceiling light?

picsaro, Put a level up on the ceiling and see if it's level. Is your fan balanced? pete

Is this a pic of your fan?
Is it new?
Does it replace another fan?
Is the ceiling box metal or plastic?
When you stand on a stepladder and with both hands rock the blades up and down can you detect any movement in the housing?

It's obviously not sitting flush in the bracket.

That is the fan. Ceiling box is metal. It replaced another fan, but previously there was no box- it was just screwed into a joist. The ceiling is slightly not level. Can i compensate for that by adjusting the motor somehow? It is a ball fits into the bracket, so im not sure how i could adjust that.

Rotate the ball so it drops into the slot.

the ball is in the slot. that appears to be level and secure. but because the ceiling is not level, it is causing the housing to be lower on one side, thus making the blade bracket scrape it. so i either need to somehow reposition the ball in the socket or raise the ceiling slightly. any suggestions are appreciated.

Is the ceiling wavy or does it slope?

From the pic, it looks like the housing is a little more than 12" wide. Across that distance how much out of level is the ceiling? How about a pic?

Are these brackets by chance the little plastic shipping stoppers that must be removed prior to installation? Every new ceiling fan I have installed has had the plastic stoppers screwed into the fan motor housing to prevent it from being damaged while being shipped/transported.

Ahhh. I get it. I didn't look closely at the pic.

You can't install a fan of this style on a sloped ceiling.

Get a fan with a 4" to 5" canopy.

anyway I suspect that a smaller canopy or a higher-projecting fan would do it...
