About two months ago I installed a new ceiling fan complete with new box and wiring. It has a built in two bulb lamp and I installed a Hampton Bay remote control. This morning leaving for work, around 5:45 am, I looked up and noticed both bulbs doing a strobe effect flashing, very dim, but was there and can only be seen in really dark situations. Both the fan and lamps were off. Now I think I would of noticed this if it started right at installation, but not sure. The bulbs are both newer fluorescent style bulbs.

Any ideas?? Should I use an Incandescent bulb?? Should I be worried that something may be shorting out and be warned of fire?? Thanks in advance!

Switch to incandescent bulbs. CFLs require a special dimmer, which the remote probably is not.

I thought the chances were that most CFLs labeled "dimmable" could be used with most dimmers designed for incandescents.

Can you send a link? I'd like to learn more.
