I have just finished pressue washing my cedar siding. I do not know what kind of sealer to use. I like the natural look and the color now is prefect. I went to Lowes and was told the product I need was $190.00. I went to Home Depot and they said I could use a product for $58.00. Was do I look for and how should the product be applied.

Stay away from the box stores if you care about your Cedar Siding. If your willing to pay $70+ a gallon find a Sikkens Dealer and look at their Cetol Log & Siding. If that’s not in the budget I’ve used Parrifin Oil on Cedar with good results for years.

Thanks

But how do you apply the Parrifin Oil?
I put it on liberally with a garden sprayer, then work it in with a rag or brush depending on the surface. Then ideally wait a few days and do it again.

What I use is “Chevron Shake and Shingle Oil”. The only place to get it that I know of is at a Chevron Heating Oil Company.
