Quick question, I have painted cedar siding on my house and it's in need of some maintenance that I don't have time to complete in a timely fashion. One of the pieces of siding needs to be replaced as it has a hole in it and a few other spots need some caulking and to be resecured. Plus I'd like pro do this as they might see other issues that I would miss. Who would I call to do something like this? General Contractor? Siding company? Someone different all together? Thanks!

Most GC's I know are experienced in repairing cedar siding.

Just beware that with the busy season upon us, most contractors are booked up through the summer and likely won't be too interested in a small repair job.

Thanks for your reply! I actually have a GC coming out next week to give me a quote on installing new baseboard and cabinets in my basement. So I'll throw this in too and package it all together.

Welcome to the forums!

Have him caulk the drywall/floor joint (wood studs/plates expand/contract with the seasonal humidity changes; pulling away from the drywall creating a gap) and the bottom plate/floor joint- to air seal before running the base to stop room air/moisture condensing on the wood studs.

The holes are usually loose knotholes that have fallen out, just backing them with metal flashing works- over-lapping the course top edge below, unless you don't like seeing it...
