I have an addition that I would like to convert the regular ceiling to a cathedral ceiling using metal ties. i.e. replacing wood ceiling joices to metal ties. Does anyone have any experience with this type of a project? I was wondering if it is possible to rase the height of the metal rod joice up from the top of the wall. Also, any ideas on where I can locate these type of metal ties? I live in Ontario.

You can post some photos of the situation, but it sounds like you'll need a structural engineer to work up plans.
Take shots inside and out.
