Hi all,

I have to run a Cat6 cable inside my garage that has concrete walls. What's the best way to do it? Can I use PVC conduit?

You can. I'd use schedule 80 rather than 40. How many cables in the same conduit?

Just one. I'm going to drill through the wall into a closet and connect it there to a gigabit switch.

IMO PVC belongs in the ground and EMT belongs on walls.

You are talking about surface mounting in a finished space right? If the concrete isn't poured yet and the conduit won't be exposed ENT is a good option

Yes, it's an old house. There are EMTs of different sizes, gas pipes, heating pipes on those walls, so I am not worried about the looks

If the wall is already poured just drill a small diameter hole through the wall to push the wires through and then caulk around it. There's no real need for conduit.

I do care about physical protection - that's the only reason why I want to put it inside some tubing.

Right on. Schedule 80, EMT or RMC is my advice. Almost all others offer no protection against physical damage.

TSH-0506G-1 is $15 - and it is 2 metres, so you get 6.56 feet!

For a residential garage PVC, ENTor EMT is more than enough protection.
