I don't understand your question about Cat5e cable so what choices are you referring to?

Cat5 has solid, twisted ect... a 500 ft roll rages in price from $50-90 in different configurations. so what would I buy for my home wiring project. The walls are ready for sheetrock,

Are you running this in your walls or not?

If in the walls (fixed location) use Cat 5, unshielded twisted pair, solid conductors.

The stranded conductor version is more flexible and is usually used in patch cables.
