I need to change the vent line for my kitchen sink. No real problem, but I'm wondering how to handle the hub coming out of the slab. The vent is 2" cast iron. The house was built in 1965. It looks like the 2" cast iron is stuck into the hub and hot lead poured around it.
Can this hub accommodate ABS pipe via some sort of conversion fitting, or will I need to have a small length of cast iron fitted and then convert to ABS?

Well, even rotating and re-uploading the images don't give me proper orientation. Should be portrait. I guess cell phone images for uploading need to be shot in landscape.

What you need to do is drill out the lead with a small bit- like 1/4" Drill a series of holes around the pipe. Clean out the remaining lead with a screw driver.
Be careful to not apply too much pressure on the hub- it might snap off- then your into plan B...

Once the lead is out, the oakum packing is the next thing to remove. This can be done before or after the pipe is lifted out of the hub- it can be tough to pull out.

I guess I should also have asked: Any additional special tips or tricks to getting the lead and oakum out and cleaning the hub? Would a heat gun help, or would that increase the likelihood of plan B?
