Hi, I have a Carrier 38YCC heat pump which is now 9 years old. During the winter I noticed ice building up on outside of unit, but was still heating. When warm weather arrived and I put AC on, it was blowing warm air. I checked fuses to unit, and 30 amp fuse was blown, no breakers, older house. Changed fuse, put AC on, fan on outside ran for about 20 seconds, then shut off. I did a little bit of research and changed starter capacitor. Blew another fuse. Called service technician, $125 later, he diagnosed a bad compressor.I do hear humming coming from unit. Does this sound about right to you, or something else he may have missed? Thank you
