Hi all,

I have a small space in the front of my house (near my door step) which I am planning to build a carport on. See, I recently got a car and that small space use to be a where other stuffs are placed and it used to be a smoking spot during night. But when I think of constructing a carport in there, I worry that my car would be exposed to too much light.

Any help on building a shelter or something like a shade for the car?

Somethings wrong if sunlight has any effect on your car.
Concidered one of those steel carports?
That's the fastest, cheapest way to do it.

I just need a kind of a shade to cover up my car. As simple as possible as I also have just a little space. Are those steel carports can be DIYed?

Carport shade

Out here we use heavy duty shade cloth (about 90% reduction). Grommets are installed, and an exterior rated rope is used to secure it to the steel carport beams.
