I was looking to build a simple side carport overhang --there where the little trailer is at in pic-with 4 by 4s and t111 for sides with metal roofing for a overhang over the trailer beside the garage and was looking for some ideas.Its about 8-10 ft wide by 12-16 ft out as garage length is.
I wanted to have roof slanted away toward yard for drainage .Same direction as garage roof is but i didnt want to attatch it directly to garage.

Not looking to put too much into it with costs since i have a lot of leftover building material from deck.
Any info is appreciated.

I *hate* T111.
Sucks up rain water through the ends, turns to garbage in 3-4 years.
Try Hardiboard instead. Much heavier but won't swell.

I have to agree T-111 is one of the last types of siding I'd pick.
If you want it free standing for some reason why not just a steel one?

Could always bring in one of those shipping containers, up on blocks with a shed roof over.

The t111 in pic is over 8 yrs old an i have had no problems with it..
Reguarless of what i use for outside ,i was looking for the main build an framing ideas.
Nothing extreme or fancy just a cover for beside garage .
