Carpet tile advice?

741 Views 1 Reply 1 Participant Last post by  Drhoda
I was thinking of laying carpet tiles over a hardwood floor in a rental property. I found a good deal on some tiles on craigslist but they require adhesive....which I figure would leave a mess on the hardwood. I would rather have the dry laid kind or self adhesive that is not too messy.

Is there such a thing as easy to remove adhesive?

Also, there appears to be all kinds of grades of carpet tiles from residential to commercial. I'm looking for durability, resistance to stains, least cost, etc. It seems like dry laid tiles would be great...as you could take one out and power wash it and put it back?

I've never worked with carpet tiles. Any advice for something that looks residential but is durable like commercial?

No ideas?

I think I've decided that double-sided carpet tape would be the least messy?
