I need to install a few access / service doors in my cargo trailer. To do so, I need to cut out some 1x1 and 1x2 steel rectangular tubes and weld them perpendicularly for additional support. The trailer skin is made of aluminum and is glued tightly to steel studs.
I am concerned that if start welding, the heat will damage the aluminum or at least its paint outside.
Any trick how to avoid that?
