Hey I am doing a little renovation in my home and I was wondering can I cap off a live housewireing line that used to power an outlet in my room?

here is a picture of what I have done. note this is only semi temporary I will have an electrition in to ad some proper lighting and outlets. but at this time I don't know when Ill be able to afford.

A small board will cover this up to finish the wall. I can't remove the wires completely because I don't poses the skill and it is used to power other outlets in a laundry room

You will have to install a junction box and put a blank cover over it. You can't just cap live wires and leave them in the wall or ceiling.

I appreciate your honesty about your abilities. You can't just cap off a live line and cover it up. You need to disconnect it at the source. I cannot see your picture, but I will tell you what you can do. If the wire terminates in an electrical box, you can wire nut the wires and put a cover over the box. You cannot cover the box with anything, it needs to be accessible.

Mhm okay now the area where the wires are is a fairly tight space. They were connected to a box. I removed it when I took out a small divider wall.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/521/20130215224608.jpg/

Can I install the box here where the wires hang? I would like to re hook the to an outlet.

And the measurement for the area the wires are in is the width of a 2x4 (from white exposed stud to exposed stud )

Just use a box something like this.

Does that box have the capacity for 5 wires plus the receptacle?

With 5 conductors assuming (2) 14/2 romex that would be 10 cu inch needed. Add the outlet 4 cu inches, so the total is 14 cu inches . The box would have to have a volume of at least 14 cu inches.

When I removed the old box the plugin had both wires attached to it. so one side had two black wires other two white. and both the grounds were attached in the same area. From school I don't remember an outlet like that. was that safe? or is each wire ment for its own outlet?

All outlets are done that way.
It's so you can daisy from one outlet to the next.
The ground should have been pig tailed so there was only one wire under the screw.
