Looking to have open cell sprayed in the roofline. 8" rafters and will be sprayed in two passes with curing time after the first pass. Been on hold since the virus started. Was originally afraid of the roofline, but this project has gone on so long that I just want it done, and spraying the roofline seems to be the best way to do these 1.5 story homes.

Here's a discussion that might help.
https://www.greenbuildingadvisor.com/question/open-cell-spray-foam-on-roof-deck

I'm not sure if open cell is allowed directly against the bottom of the roof because it is very permeable and would allow moisture to enter and reach the cold roof.

But I'll let you read.

Bud

I've read that article, and there seems to be ZERO consensus. There are guys who have sprayed 1000s of homes this way with zero issues. Guys like Dana Dorsett post on greenbuildingadvisor.
