Installing drywall in my bathroom as a remodel. The ceiling is stippling that is tight to the wall side (in addition to everywhere else, of course) so I cannot possibly tape the wall/ceiling joint. I plan on using crown which I can make work with the stippling. In this instance, I can and probably should cut the taper off the top wall drywall piece, correct?

Thing is, years ago I hung drywall in other parts of the house and has the same problem bjt cannot for the life of me remember if I cut the taper off or not! I'm fairly certain I did, but wanted to be sure that is the proper thing to do. Thanks!

You pretty much have 2 choices, either scrape off the ceiling texture next to wall so you can tape the corner or flat tape the wall and then caulk the finished tape to the ceiling. BUT if you intend to install crown molding their is no need to do either.
