Recently, A bolt that attached parts of an elliptical machine broke off leaving only the thread part in opening. I need to remove the bolt in its entirety in order to put in a new one but the old one will not come out. I tried drilling and the I tried using one of those Home Depot easy outs, but the bolt would not come out. I have limited access to the bolt. Any suggestions?

This may sound dumb, but is the bolt right hand threads or left? Is there another bolt just like it that you can remove to make this determination?

Just thinking out loud.

It's difficult to determine how limited your access is without pictures or at least some measured distances.

The bolt application is another consideration. A cap screw holding an object on with the end not bottomed is very different than a set screw that's bottomed out.

Easy outs: Prefer the square tapered Proto. Make a T handle by using 2 adjustable wrenches on the easy out.
