I just installed low-voltage lighting on the stairs of my deck. They are wired to a 200w transformer with a timer, but it's on the ground level. I would like to get rid of the timer and wire a switch for the deck on the second level. I can't find anything on if this is even possible. Everything I have seen talks about regular light circuits, I am assuming there is a difference? Thanks for the help!

You will still need the timer for the transformer but you could:

A) Leave it turned on and switch the recep that it is plugged into

B) Leave it turned on and install a switch on the LV side.

if the clock is removable or can be disconnected ....you can do it.
yes you can put a regular switch on a low voltage wire.
normal switch is rated up to 277v, you'll be dealing with 13 volts probably.... you're good to go
