I was thinking of winching it vertical using the larger tree on the right, and leaving it roped there for a year or two.

Yesterday they were parallel.

Any thoughts?

Yesterday they were parallel? Not good news.

My guess you may have a contained root ball situation under that tree and the roots have just wrapped around each other and rotted.

You can try pulling it over but don't risk the healthly tree. Get a couple of solid tree strakes and and tree ties and build a support. You need to get rid of the water shoot too.

You may get lucky but this is not a good situation.

Thanks for the reply. I forgot to mention in my post that it was high winds that forced it over. It didn't just fall over on its own.

Watershoot? Is that the smaller tree on the left?
