I guess the title asks it all. I had a wax ring fail in an unheated bathroom. The temp in there was 50ish (F) and I was wondering if the temperature could have had anything to do with it failing?
When I replaced the toilet a few years ago the flange was showing it's age with rust, but I was able to get the bolts secured fine. I think that combined with the extra stress with the house guests, well, as they say... "somethings gotta give." As soon as I can get a few hours off I guess I'll find out how bad it is.
No plunging, but last month I did have a house full of 3XL house guests using that 45 year old flange.
Thanks all. I'm about to pull it and see what's going on. I just wanted to make sure there was no reason not to use it after I get it fixed.
