I want to replace the "Iron Pipe Fitting" with a brass one. So I have to remove about 2cm wide and several cm deep of the grout and tile around the Iron Pipe Fitting in order to have enough space to take it off.

What is the best method ? Can I use the Chiseling function of a rotary hammer to chisel off the area around the Iron Pipe Fitting ? Will the vibration of the rotary hammer cause cracking of the entire tile ? Or cause pipe leakage deep inside the wall ?

Yes and yes. Why not do it by hand with a metal chisel (sacrifice it for a few $$) and avoid creating a expensive repair when it leaks later. Pre drill some holes carefully with a masonry bit and regular drill (not hammer type) and hand carve the rest out.

yuri @ Thanks for your advice. I have a rotary hammer on hand so I want to save some energy and sweat.

LateralConcepts @ The "Iron Pipe Fitting" is the main outlet to a water heater. Over time, the iron fitting will become corroded and rusty. Water flow will then become somewhat restricted. The pipes inside the wall are all brass except the outlet fitting. Hope you understand what I said.
