I need to repaint some kitchen cupboards, they were painted i n melamainne first time , can i sand and repaint with a quality oil?

Any suggestons what product i should use to recoat? My wife likes benjamin Moores products so wht BM product should i be looking at using?

I believe the malimine is a latex, so I wouldn't recommend it, but if you do, coat it with oil primer first.

the malimine we used for the original was an oil based product. I was curious because i was under the impression malimine was kinda of a speciality coating for cabinets. It has plastic resins in it i beleive?

I just assumed since most people go with the Latex version and infact it's hard to find specs on the older oil based versions. If you are sure it was oil based, then you can go right over it again with oil. If it's glossy then just scuff up the surface with some 220 grit sandpaper first.
