I want to spray a knock-down texture onto some walls.
Do they make a different fluid nozzle that has a larger hole,
so that the diluted drywall mud will not try to be sprayed as a mist?

I doubt it. There are some low priced hopper guns for sale. I don't know how they compare to my Goldblatt but that is the type of gun you should use.

Not a chance. You need a real hopper. You can rent them at home depot if you dont want to buy one.
