Can i apply unsanded grout over sanded grout?

On the tile above bath/shover enclosure and floor tile I used Mapei sanded grout. I was told to use sanded grout but to me it seems a bit rough and probably will be hard to clean. Question is can I go over it with unsanded grout? The grout has not been sealed yet so I don't see why not bcos the surface is rough.
